Pre-burial and Final INSPECTIONs FOR UST’S

Note: This Permit will be allowed one pre-burial and one Final inspection.

 

 

  • ADEQ card holder on site and contractor to have State Approved Plans & Permit on site.
  • Contractor to furnish inspector with Bill of Lading of tank(s) that will state tank size, tank material construction, and tank serial number(s).
  • Contractor to fill dispenser sumps with water to a level above the sump penetrations.
  • Contractor to fill containment sump on fuel tank(s) with water to a level above the highest sump penetration inside the sump.
  • Contractor to pressurize the product lines with air to 50 p.s.i. Pressure gauge used for this test should be Zero to sixty ( 0 – 60 p.s.i.g.)
  • Contractor to pressurize the secondary containment lines with air to 5 p.s.i. Pressure gauge used for this test should be Zero to fifteen (0-15 p.s.i.g.) for flexible piping. Test rigid piping at 10 p.s.i.g.. Pressure gauge needs to be 0 – 15 p.s.i.g.
  • Contractor to pressurize the fuel tank with air to a pressure not to exceed 5 p.s.i..
  • Contractor to pressurize vent line / vapor recovery lines with air to a pressure not to exceed 10 – 15 p.s.i.g.. A pressure gauge used for this test should be Zero to fifteen ( 0 – 15 p.s.i.g.).
  • Contractor shall maintain 4 inch clearance from piping from the native soil.
  • Contractor to utilize soap / water solution to leak test all joints of piping and fittings. Any bubbles shall void any further testing of system.

 

Upon approval from inspector, the contractor can continue back-filling the piping trenches and fuel tank(s). A Final inspection may be scheduled after project is complete.

Final UST inspection

  • Note:An Electrical inspection and approval by the local or county jurisdiction is required prior to inspection.
  • Emergency shut-off devices installed and tested.
  • Fuel monitoring equipment installed such as a Veeder Root system will be tested.
  • All appropriate signage will be in place. Note: ESO signage will need to be visible from all dispensers at all times.
  • Portable fire extinguishers installed.
  • Communication test between the store operator and fuel dispensers.
  • This form is used only as a guide. Final approval is contingent upon favorable field inspection.
